LINDA G LEVIN DDS, PHD, PA
Dr. Linda Gibson Levin is a graduate of Duke University and The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery. She completed a residency in Endodontics at UNC in 1985 and joined the faculty. As a Physician Scientist Award Recipient from the National Institutes of Health, she completed a PhD in Microbiology and Immunology at UNC-CH School of Medicine in 1995. She currently holds a faculty appointment at the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry, Department of Endodontics and she maintains hospital privileges at Duke University Medical Center.
Dr. Levin remained at the School of Dentistry as a tenured faculty member for 20 years where she taught, performed research and practiced in the Dental Faculty Private Practice. She is the former Department Chair of Endodontics at UNC-CH. Dr. Levin has authored numerous peer reviewed papers, book chapters and review articles in areas of Endodontics and Pulp Biology. She lectures both nationally and internationally on topics of Evidence-based Endodontics. She serves as a reviewer for the Journal of Endodontics. Her background in the basic sciences and clinical dentistry uniquely qualifies her to provide the best in evidence-based care.
Dr. Levin is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. This is the ADA -designated body that confers Board Certification in Endodontics. She has served as a Director on the American Board of Endodontics. During her tenure on the ABE she served as Secretary then President. She continues to serve as an Examiner for Board Certification in Endodontics. Her distinguished career in Endodontics has achieved recognition by some of the most prestigious groups in Dentistry. She is a Fellow in the American College of Dentists which is the oldest national honorary dental organization. Dr. Levin is also a Fellow in the International College of Dentists and the International Association for Dental Traumatology. She is a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. Dr. Levin has been active in the American Association of Endodontics and is a Past President of that organization. She is a member in good standing of the AAE, ADA, North Carolina Dental Society and the Tarheel Endodontic Society. Dr. Levin is a member of the Southwest Durham Rotary Club.
Dr. Levin’s hobbies include cycling, reading, travel and music.
